Ship the argument, not the artifact.
A mockup is only useful if it makes a decision easier. If it doesn't sharpen the choice, it's decoration.

Design at the altitude the problem lives at.
Some problems are pixel problems. Most aren't. Zoom out until you find where the confusion actually starts.

The system is the second draft.
First, make one screen right. Then extract the pattern. Systems built before the product exists are guesses in a spreadsheet.

Write it before you draw it.
If I can't say what a feature does in one sentence, the design won't save it. Copy is the first prototype.
